No, I’ve not been kidnapped, and I’ve not given up blogging. I realize I am missing in action, but there’s a good reason.

I am currently on vacation, the first one I have ever taken with my husband Jon.  We are in Colorado Springs, enjoying the fantastic scenery,  cooler temps, and a visit with Jon’s family.

Despite a little altitude sickness, our first traveling adventure together has been amazing. Yesterday we went to the Garden of the Gods, which was stunning. Then we ate lunch and shopped in Manitou Springs, before going to tour the Manitou Cliff Dwellings.

Today we are going to attempt to make it to the top of Pike’s Peak. We are a bit concerned about feeling more symptoms from the altitude, but we couldn’t be this close and not attempt it.  We are also planning to stop by Helen Hunt Falls and Glen Eyrie Castle this afternoon.

Tomorrow we fly home, but should have time to go by Focus on the Family and maybe even the Olympic Training Center before we need to be at the airport to catch our return flight.

Next week, I should be back to regular blogging.  Until then, God bless!

  1. Have fun. I’ve been there numerous times and it is so different from home that it’s wonderful. I have some kids at Estes Park for the last week and they’ve had a blast. I’m currently in San Diego at a wonderful resort. Nice here too. Enjoy Paige, I’m happy for you!!!

    1. Thanks, Diane! We had a wonderful time enjoying a short vacation together. Long enough to feel like we really got away, but not so long that we began to feel travel-weary. 🙂
